Terms & conditions for entry & use of Adventure Play Fair

These terms apply to the conditions of entry and use of Adventure Play Fair
By purchasing a ticket and entry to Adventure Play Fair, you agree to comply with these terms and conditions.

Admission to Adventure Play Fair

  • Tickets pre-booked for the Adventure Play Fair are issued as e-tickets. They include a single use bar code. Tickets may be downloaded, printed or added to your google or apple wallet. The bar code on each Ticket must be clearly visible so it can be scanned on arrival.
  • Upon purchase, please check Tickets carefully as mistakes cannot always be rectified after purchase.
  • Sale prices may increase or decrease at any time based on demand. You will not be entitled to a refund if at any time the sale price for the same price category is less than the price you paid after purchase.
  • Adventure Play Fair opening days and times are advertised on the Thursford Adventure Play Fair website, opening times vary during that period.
  • Admission to Adventure Play Fair is through 30-minute timeslots. These may be booked online via the Thursford Adventure Play Fair booking page. Alternatively, tickets can be purchased in person on the day at the Adventure Play Fair entrance, subject to availability.
  • Timeslots for the Adventure Play Fair are for a duration of 2 hours unless stated otherwise.
  • There must be at least one full paying ticket on each booking.
  • For peace of mind, on arrival we advise parents / guardians to arrange a designated meet up place in the event their child becomes lost.
  • Essential Companion Tickets:
    • If you require an essential companion ticket, please phone the booking office on 01328 878477 to book. We only accept the Nimbus Access card or free Thursford Digital Pass which has either a +1 or +2 symbol. The card will be checked at the time of booking.
    • Bookings with an essential companion can also be made in person at the play park on the day, on presentation of the Nimbus Access card or free Thursford Digital Pass (email) with the +1 or +2 symbol.
    • Essential companion tickets cannot be added retrospectively to any booking and no refunds will be given once the booking has been paid.

  • Thursford Enterprises are signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant, as such we offer regulars, reservists, veterans and their immediate military families a 10 percent discount off their booking.
  • The discounted tickets for all events must be booked via the Box Office on 01328 878477, our phone lines are open Monday to Friday 09:00am – 4:00pm. If the tickets are booked online, we are sorry, but we cannot add the discount retrospectively. To confirm eligibility for the 10% discount, Thursford will need to have details of the Defence Discount Service card at the time of booking. N.B. By ‘Immediate’ we mean card holder, their partner and children. 
  • Please note the 10% discount will not apply on discounted/special offer tickets. 
  • All visitors must leave the Adventure Play Fair at the end of their timeslot.
  • Timeslots will not be extended due to late arrival.
  • Entry to Adventure Play Fair will not be permitted outside a booked timeslot. Once the timeslot has passed, the ticket will be void and re-entry prohibited
  • Tickets are not transferable nor refundable except in exceptional circumstances, see following. Please also see our Rainy Day Guarantee.
  • From time-to-time, we may be forced to amend or cancel bookings for Adventure Play Fair due to exceptional circumstances (for example, heavy snow, ice, or high winds). Details of closures will be available from thursford.com In the event of an exceptional closure, we will send an email to the email address with which you made your booking to notify you, and your ticket will be refunded.
  • Adults are not permitted to enter Adventure Play Fair without a child and only when presenting a valid ticket (e-ticket or otherwise)
  • All children entering Adventure Play Fair must be accompanied and always supervised by an adult of 18 years and older. Each supervising adult must always remain with the child(ren)
  • Each supervising adult is responsible for ensuring that their child(ren) follow the Adventure Play Fair Guidelines and all other rules and regulations relating to Adventure Play Fair

Adventure Play Fair terms of entry

We reserve the right, in our absolute discretion, to refuse entry to or remove from Adventure Play Fair any visitor or group. This includes, but is not limited to, any group or visitor who:

  • Has behaved in a manner which, has, or is likely to adversely affect Adventure Play Fair property and equipment.
  • Has behaved in a manner which risks their own safety or that of staff, visitors, volunteers, or other visitors.
  • Has used threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour, or in any way provokes or behaves in a manner that disturbs the peace and enjoyment of other visitors.
  • Is observed littering the Adventure Play Fair.
  • Is or appears to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • Is seeking to use a void ticket or fails to produce a valid Ticket, including a Rainy-Day voucher.
  • Fails to provide proof of eligibility for any discounted ticket rate or concession when purchasing a ticket or redeeming an e-ticket.

It is prohibited to take the following into Adventure Play Fair:

  • Any weapons, fireworks, smoke bombs, glass bottles, blades, flammable liquids, or other items that may cause injury or damage.
  • Skateboards, rollerblades, roller-skates, bikes, scooters and other forms of personal transport (excluding those for disabled visitor access such as wheelchairs/ personal mobility vehicles and pushchairs/buggies).
  • Balls, frisbees, balloons or any other similar item.
  • Drones
  • Pets or animals (except a registered assistance animal or emotional support animal with relevant supporting documents).
  • Musical instruments and sound systems.

Adventure Play Fair Guidelines

  • All supervising adults accept full responsibility for the supervision of their children whilst at Adventure Play Fair and acknowledge that they have a duty of care to all children that they are supervising.
  • All visitors must behave with respect towards other visitors and members of the Adventure Play Fair team.
  • The Adventure Play Fair team are there to enhance the experience of your child(ren) but are unable to provide physical assistance and are not responsible for the supervision and behaviour of child(ren).
  • A supervising adult must inform a member of the Adventure Play Fair team if a member of their party has an accident or sustains an injury.
  • Adults should consider their own, and that of their child(ren)’s capabilities, existing injuries, health conditions, height and weight when making decisions about what play equipment or feature the child(ren) use. All visitors must adhere to age and height restrictions.
  • Adventure Play Fair is a smoke free facility and smoking (including vaping and e-cigarettes) is prohibited anywhere on site at Thursford, except in the designated smoking area.
  • Food or drinks are not permitted to be taken onto the play equipment.
  • The only food and drink permitted to be consumed in the Adventure Play Fair is that purchased fromm the kiosk.
  • Clothing:
    • All jewellery, watches, glasses (unless worn with a tether and shatter-proof lenses) and other loose items should be removed.
    • Swim nappies must be worn by children that are not toilet trained for the Play Fountain. For public hygiene reasons, non-swim nappies are prohibited.
    • Suitable clothing must always be worn by children, including for the play fountain area. Thursford do not provide towels, however towels may be purchased at the ticket office.
    • Children must always wear suitable footwear in both the dry play and play fountain areas.
    • Use of water shoes or boots is strongly recommended, as the surrounds of the water play area may be slippery when wet.
    • Children must not run or jump in the play fountain area.
    • Hands, shoes and boots should be washed prior to entering the play fountain area.
    • Food and drink are not to be taken into the water play area.
    • We strongly recommend the use of appropriate sun protection including protective clothing.
  • No buggies are to be brought into the play fountain area.
  • Please do not litter, bins are provided for the disposal of rubbish.
  • Unless stated otherwise, only one (1) person is permitted to ride the slides at a time. When using the slide, you must slide feet first with elbows tucked in. You should not wait or play at the bottom of the slides.
  • All visitors must dress appropriately for the prevailing weather and wear secure footwear.
  • Do not throw or drop any items that could cause injury or disruption to visitors.

Personal property

  • Adventure Play Fair accepts no responsibility for injury, damage, or loss of any kind, whether direct, indirect, or consequential.
  • There are no facilities for the storage of buggies, prams, pushchairs, and luggage at Adventure Play Fair.
  • Any property brought to Adventure Play Fair remains the responsibility of the owner and is brought at the owner’s own risk. We cannot accept liability for any loss or theft of personal items.
  • Items left unattended may be removed for security reasons.

Photography and recording

  • You may film or take photographs within Adventure Play Fair for domestic personal use only.
  • If you wish to film or take photographs of or within Adventure Play Fair for public broadcast, commercial purposes or for student projects, you must obtain our prior written consent.
  • From time-to-time we (or other authorised parties) may carry out photography and/or video recording and/or other monitoring (including by CCTV camera) in the Thursford. Collection environs and Adventure Play Fair, which may feature visitors. By accepting these terms, you agree that:
    • These images may be used in perpetuity in any promotional, advertising or publicity material in any format whatsoever.
    • Copyright rests with us (or such authorised party).
    • CCTV recordings may be used for evidential purposes in the event of a health and safety incident, where a crime has been committed or when required by law.

Adventure Play Fair Rainy-Day Guarantee

  • The Rainy-Day Guarantee only applies where there has been 60 minutes or more of continuous rain.
  • The Rainy-Day Guarantee only applies to tickets booked online, a minimum of 24 hours in advance of arrival. It does not apply to bookings made within this time frame whether online or in person at the venue.
  • The voucher has a nominal value of 0.0001p and cannot be used as part payment towards another booking.
  • Customers must attend the time slot they have booked despite the weather forecast as the Rainy-Day Guarantee voucher will only be issued to those present in the Adventure Play Fair.
  • The responsibility for obtaining a voucher is that of the attendee and not the Thursford Adventure Play team. If the Rainy-Day voucher was not obtained by the attendee or where the voucher has been mislaid or lost it will not be replaced or issued retrospectively.
  • Thursford will not track or record the prevailing weather conditions so if you have not obtained or been issued a voucher, you will not be permitted re-entry under the Guarantee.
  • The return voucher is valid for 28 days or until the last date of the summer season; this includes days where the play park is closed e.g. if it rains on 16 June the 28-day limit will end on 14 July. Vouchers given at the end of the season may not have a 28-day period in which to return as the park will close in October.
  • The voucher is only valid for the year the original booking was made and cannot be carried over into the subsequent year/s.
  • No extensions will be permitted beyond the date stated on the voucher.
  • The Voucher does not guarantee ‘immediate’ re-entry. As such, the party may have to queue for an indeterminate period on the return visit particularly at popular times and popular days as there is maximum number of children & adults permitted in the Adventure Play Fair for safety purposes. Our team will do their best to accommodate return visitors as soon as reasonably possible.
  • The Rainy-Day Guarantee may be removed at any time and does not form part of your booking contract with Thursford Collection.
